Hasan Umur

 

He was born in Istanbul, in the morning of 1st of May, 1965. He took a step toward his technical occupation choice by graduating from Istanbul Macka Industrial Vocational High School. He graduated from Mechanical Engineering Department of Uludag University in 1987. He started his MBA while working as a general manager. He studied on "Photovoltaic solar panel production in Turkey" as his postgraduate thesis.

            In his professional life, he worked in different management roles for various companies and functions across production and service industries. He worked in durable consumer goods' R&D departments of Turkey's biggest holdings, as well as leading many projects in Turkey and abroad. He was in charge in family-owned companies as institutionalization and change leader in the capacity of senior executive and general manager. Now he is providing consultation on strategy management and coaching the family-owned companies' shareholders who will take over the leadership.

            Hasan Umur, who started his articles with weekly columns in newspapers, follows that route by developing models to guide the business life and management, and reflecting them into his books.

            Umur is married, has three children, and adopts efficient reading and studying them by note-taking as the philosophy of life.
